The one-of-a-kind town of Dąbki hosted many famous artists, but there is one person who stole the hearts of the large family of holiday makers at Holiday Home Maria, i.e. writer Monika Oleksa. Monika has been creating her works for many years, e.g. during stays at our centre. The plot of some of her books happens in Holiday Home Maria. Read about it in: “Dark side of love”.

A writing dreamer with a sensitive soul open to other people. During the day she tries to evoke in children, the youth and adults the love to English and fulfil herself as a mother of Michael and Milosz and the wife of Martin. After dusk, she delves into the world of fiction and fantasy, which she pours into paper. She likes to observe life and weave it into her stories. Writing has been her passion since forever. She was born and lives in Lublin, with which she is strongly bonded. The places where her creativity flourishes are her beloved Dąbki and Nałęczów. She debuted in 2002 with a collection of her stories entitled “Mime’s Smile”. In 2011, her first novel, entitled “Love Enchanted in a Chestnut,” was published by the Zysk i S-ka publishing house.

“Dąbki. Once a small fisherman’s village, currently a health resort. White sand on an endless beach, a haven at the coast and fishing boats. In the fish bar, fish straight out of the net. Calm and still. Tiny souvenir shops, amber and silver united into a delicate, subtle jewellery; bakeries and little patisseries tempting with fluffy breads and cakes. They liked the place. They found it on the Internet. Holiday Home Maria, lush with flowers and taken care of in every detail. A great, family atmosphere where they felt as if they knew this place forever. The hospitality of the owners and involvement of the staff made the stay in this place a true refuge from the every-day life and Małgorzata knew after a couple of days already that she would leave this place with genuine sadness and that she would come back here many a time”.
